Along with Chris Sappenfield and Tim Hsieh, Ph.D. (both of whom are Partners at MH2 Technology Law Group, LLP), Jim Boyle will be a speaker at a May 11, 2022 webinar addressing inventions related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The number of artificial intelligence (AI)-related patent applications filed annually at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has risen dramatically in recent years. AI innovations are occurring across a diverse array of technical fields, including healthcare, telecommunications, and online retailing, among many others, as the volume of available data and computer processing power continues to expand. This webinar provides a description of AI generally along with selected examples of patent filings that further illustrate the types of AI inventions being pursued. In addition to discussing various AI intellectual property protection strategies, considerations for navigating through an ever more crowded patent landscape are also addressed.

Jim Boyle joins MH2 Technology Law Group LLC as Of Counsel
Boyle, PLLC Patent & Technology Law is proud to announce that Jim Boyle has joined MH2 Technology Law Group LLP as Of Counsel. Jim’s practice focuses on all aspects of patent protection, including licensing, opinions, and patent prosecution. For over twenty years, Jim has prepared and prosecuted patents related to complex electrical, chemical, software, and physics-based technology and processes. He has particular expertise in patenting inventions related to software, artificial intelligence, and quantum-based processes. Prior to his work as a patent attorney, Jim earned a Ph.D. in physics and served as a research physicist for over seven years, elucidating the dynamics of laser/atom interactions and processes. In addition, prior to entering law school, Jim was an associate editor on the staff of the American Heritage Dictionary.
As a patent attorney for over twenty years, Jim has extensive litigation experience in Federal District Courts and in other forums, including experience before the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multi-district Litigation, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and he has successfully defended multiple patents before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). While serving as Of Counsel to MH2, Jim will continue as founder and a member of Boyle, PLLC.
